Suji Ki Kheer Recipe

How to make Suji Ki Kheer Recipe pakistani

To make Suji Ki Kheer, a popular Pakistani dessert, you'll need the following ingredients:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup semolina (suji)
4 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
A handful of mixed dry fruits (chopped almonds, pistachios, cashews, and raisins)
Saffron strands (optional, for garnish)
Now, let's move on to the recipe:
1.Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan or a deep saucepan over medium heat.

2.Add the semolina (suji) to the pan and roast it until it turns golden brown. Keep stirring continuously to ensure even browning and to prevent it from burning. This process will take around 4-5 minutes.

3 .In a separate saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Bring it to a gentle boil and then reduce the heat to low.

4 .Slowly add the roasted semolina to the milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Be careful as the mixture may splutter.

5 .Cook the semolina in milk on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the semolina to cook and thicken the kheer.

6 .Add sugar to the pan and mix well until it dissolves completely. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste.

7 .Stir in the cardamom powder and mix it into the kheer for a delightful aroma.

8 .In a small frying pan, heat a teaspoon of ghee and fry the chopped dry fruits and raisins until they turn golden brown. Remove from heat and set them aside.

9 .Add the fried dry fruits and raisins to the kheer, reserving a few for garnishing.

10 .Continue to simmer the kheer for another 5-10 minutes until it reaches a desired thick consistency. Keep stirring occasionally to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pan.

11 .Once the kheer is ready, remove it from heat and let it cool down to room temperature. It will thicken further as it cools.

12 .Garnish the Suji Ki Kheer with the remaining fried dry fruits, raisins, and a few saffron strands for an appealing touch.

13 .You can serve the kheer warm or chilled, as per your preference. It tastes delicious either way.
Enjoy the delightful Suji Ki Kheer as a sweet ending to your meal or as a special treat on festive occasions!
