Turkish Shawarma Recipe





How to make Turkish Shawarma 


Turkish shawarma, also known as "döner kebab," is a delicious and flavorful dish that can be enjoyed as a street food or as a main course. Here's a recipe for making Turkish shawarma at home:


Ingredients:


2 pounds of boneless lamb or chicken meat, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon of paprika

1 tablespoon of cumin

1 tablespoon of coriander

1 tablespoon of dried oregano

1 tablespoon of garlic powder

1 tablespoon of salt

1 tablespoon of black pepper

1/4 cup of olive oil

1/4 cup of white wine vinegar

1/4 cup of lemon juice

Pita bread

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Onions

Cucumber

Tzatziki sauce

Instructions:


1. In a large bowl, mix together the paprika, cumin, coriander, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.


2. Add the sliced meat to the bowl and mix well, making sure that all the meat is coated with the spices.


3. In a separate bowl, mix together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, and lemon juice.


4. Pour the marinade over the meat, making sure that it is evenly coated.


5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate the meat in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible.


6. Preheat your oven to 375°F.


7. Thread the marinated meat onto skewers and place them on a baking sheet.


8. Bake the meat for 25-30 minutes, or until it is cooked through and slightly charred.


9. While the meat is cooking, prepare the vegetables by slicing the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers into thin strips.


10. Heat up some pita bread in the oven for a few minutes.


11. Assemble the shawarma by placing some lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers onto the pita bread.


12. Remove the meat from the skewers and place it on top of the vegetables.


13. Drizzle some tzatziki sauce over the meat.


            Roll up the pita bread and enjoy your delicious Turkish shawarma!
