How to make Qeema Karela Recipe
Qeema Karela is a popular Pakistani dish made with minced meat and bitter gourd. Here is a recipe to make it:
Ingredients:
500g minced meat (beef or mutton)
5-6 bitter gourds
2 onions, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
2-3 green chilies, chopped
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1 .Wash the bitter gourds and cut them into thin slices. Remove the seeds and sprinkle some salt on them. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
2 .Heat oil in a pan and fry the bitter gourd slices till they are golden brown. Drain them on a paper towel and keep aside.
3 .In the same pan, add chopped onions and fry till they are translucent.
4 .Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
5 .Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and all the spices. Fry till the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate.
6 .Add minced meat and fry till it changes color and is no longer pink.
7 .Add a cup of water and cover the pan. Cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes or till the meat is tender.
8 .Add the fried bitter gourd slices and mix well. Cook for another 5-10 minutes.
9 .Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
