Lasagne alla Bolognese recipe.

How to make Lasagne alla Bolognese Italian recipe

Lasagne alla Bolognese is a classic Italian dish made with layers of lasagne noodles, a rich meat sauce, and a creamy béchamel sauce. Here's a recipe to make it at home:

Ingredients:

12 lasagne noodles
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup red wine
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Cook the lasagne noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and pork over medium-high heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.

Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the crushed tomatoes, red wine, tomato paste, beef broth, salt, pepper, and nutmeg to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for 20 minutes.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens. Stir in the Parmesan cheese.

To assemble the lasagne, spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with a layer of lasagne noodles, then a layer of the béchamel sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the lasagne.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
Let the lasagne cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
