Ingredients:
1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
2 cups yogurt
2 onions, finely chopped
2 tbsp ginger paste
2 tbsp garlic paste
2 tbsp red chili powder
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
4-5 green cardamom pods
2-3 black cardamom pods
2 cinnamon sticks
4-5 cloves
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup oil
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken pieces and season with salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Mix well and set aside for 30 minutes.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, garam masala powder, and black pepper powder. Set aside.
In a large pot, heat the oil and add the onions. Fry the onions until they turn golden brown.
Add the marinated chicken to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken starts to brown.
Add the green cardamom pods, black cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and bay leaf. Stir well.
Add the yogurt mixture to the pot and stir until the chicken is fully coated.
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Cook for 30-40 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
